Joe Pettit, Jr.

Headshot

Joe Pettit Jr. has written for a variety of publications including VideoScope, Ugly Things Magazine, Images: A Journal of Film and Popular Culture, and the All Music Guide online. A long time connoisseur of the weird, Joe enjoys savoring the rarified bouquets of fine tales and films of horror and the supernatural, delving into forbidden tomes of metaphysical and Fortean lore, and boldly exploring strange soundscapes and bizarre states of mind.

In addition to writing reviews and criticism, Joe is a rock music composer/performer who plays frequently with several bands including Alpha Dahlia and Chicken Town: a tribute to Bob Dylan. Four years ago he began co-writing a Lovecraftian rock opera set in a 1980s music television network named the Global Mind Warp Corp. While the composition of the rock opera is on extended hiatus due to several extenuating factors, one song from the production, a jingle for the music network entitled "Global Mind Warp," appears on the Alpha Dahlia CD, Mind Warp.

Born in Florida, Joe now physically resides in Eugene, Oregon, but mentally dwells somewhere between Innsmouth, Transylvania, and the Arkham Asylum. Occasionally he is incapacitated by fits of cosmic horror.
