While studying the ecosystem of a lake, an ambitious science student discovers a strange and sinister artifact. Fascinated by it, he shows it to his professor, who immediately recognizes it as something dangerous. When the professor attempts to destroy the artifact, the student takes it and flees, studying it on his own.
