A discussion of Lovecraft’s heroes as other. Olmstead in “The Shadow Over Innsmouth,” “The Outsider,” “Arthur Jermyn,” and “Rats in The Walls;” all have a main character with either an unfortunate hereditary trait or a penchant for being an unwitting monster. Scott Connors will use slides of Clark Ashton Smith’s fantastic painting and sculpture to navigate us through the artistic waters that poured from the Emporer of Dreams.

In addition to being a writer, Lord Dunsany was a prolific artist and sculptor. S. T. Joshi will share photos from a recent trip Dunsany’s castle, and elucidate us on the famed writer’s lesser known talent.
