The timelines of Vasily and Dmitri intersect through their encounters with an icon of dark, unknown origins. Using contrasting imagery of Eastern European folklore and Orthodox Christianity, The Ikon conjures a 20th century tale of horror: a cinematic depiction of individuals confronting society on the brink of collapse, encroaching social disintegration, and the eerie strangeness of the supernatural.
