Victoria Blake is the founder and publisher of Underland Press, which has published novels by Jeff VanderMeer, Joe R. Lansdale, and Brian Evenson, among others. In the four years since launch, books from Underland Press have won a National Library Association Award for best novel, and have been nominated for the Hugo, World Fantasy, Shirley Jackson, and Nebula awards. Before Victoria became a publisher, she was an editor at Dark Horse Comics, an art critic at the Oregonian, and an education reporter covering the Beaverton School District, where she won an Oregon Journalism Award for best feature story. She is the recipient of a National Science Foundation-funded grant to study science writing. She holds an MFA from the Warren Wilson Program for Writers, and a BA from Barnard College, Columbia University.
