Pickman's Apprentice
Pickman's Apprentice, introduced at the 2012 H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival Portland, has become a popular event with both the audience and the artists! Artists have 90 minutes to create an original art piece from start to finish. The content of the piece is based on a monster and location chosen at random. Past combinations include "Shoggoth Circus," "King In Yellow in a Sushi Bar," and "Nyarlathotep at a Water Park." Just imagine the possibilities!
Preview some of the films already selected to play at the 20th Annual H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival in October. Seating is limited, and is on a first come, first seated basis, so we recommend getting your seat early.

To what extent, if at all, are Lovecraft's writings responsible for the widespread Satanic Panic of the 70s and the perception of alternative religion as devil worship? Also, why are so many modern Pagans Lovecraft fans?
