In the wake of "True Detective", we take a look at the influence of Chambers's King In Yellow. What is it exactly, why are only some people drawn to it, and why does it hold such power over the "infected," both in fiction and for real life creators? Are the stories an essay on madness, supernatural fiction, or somehow both? Joe Pulver, Michael Cisco, KL Young, and S. T. Joshi.
How various religious concepts are portrayed in Lovecraft's fiction. Cultists, Crosses, Superstition all come into play in stories including Dreams In the Witch House, Haunter of the Dark, Shadow Over Innsmouth, Call of Cthulhu, The Silver Key.
