Lovecraft Under the Gun 72 Hour Film competition screening 2026

An annual tradition since 2014! Teams get together and make a Lovecraftian or Cosmic Horror film in just 3 days! They're given a prop and line of dialogue that they must use in the film, and you'll get to see what they accomplished. Get ready for a mix of serious, fun, and mega-fun! The winner is determined by scores from the audience and our panel of judges, and will be announced at the Awards Presentation.

Lovecraft isn’t just for English majors and those with a proclivity for sesquipedalian and prolix prose any more. Join the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society’s Sean Branney and Mike Dalager for a fun-filled reading of the Dr. Seuss-styled versions of “The Call of Cthulhu”, “Dagon” and “At the Mountains of Madness”. We’ll punctuate Seussian fun with text from HPL’s originals too!
