    Dark Adventure Radio Theatre LIVE! presents The Shadow Over Innsmouth

    The H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society brings Lovecraft's tale to life as it might have been adapted for radio in the 1930s. In the style of The War of the Worlds, The Shadow and other classic radio plays, Dark Adventure Radio Theatre dramatizes HPL's story live on stage with a cast of professional actors, exciting sound effects and thrilling original music. Discover what fate has in store for you as you delve into this cherished tale of ichthyic horrors.

  • Opening Night Gala with Necronomidol and Chiaki J. Konaka

    Join us for the big festival opening! A short musical performance by the Lovecraft-themed all-female Japanese band NECRONOMIDOL will be followed by a short keynote with Guest of Honor Chiaki J. Konaka, on the influence of the Cthulhu Mythos in Japanese horror and TV, including clips from Ultraman episodes penned by Konaka.  

    Short Film Block 1 will begin immediately after this presentation.

  • Necronomidol in Concert!

    We are beyond excited to welcome NECRONOMIDOL, the all-female Japanese heavy metal idol band as our special musical guest! They will perform a full set on Saturday evening, do not miss this once in a lifetime spectacular of sound and sight! Drawing inspiration from Lovecraft’s mythos, their unique sound and otherworldly sensibilities have earned them a global fan following. 

     

  • Lovecraft Under the Gun 72 Hour Film project screening (w/Q&A)

    It's the 7th Annual Lovecraft Under the Gun 72 Hour Film Contest screening! 3 Teams competed this year, to take a prop and line of dialogue and turn it into a Lovecraftian short film. Audience votes and our guest judge determine the winner! This has become a festival favorite, and seating is limited. We suggest you arrive early to secure your seat! Q&A with the competing teams follows the screening of their entries.

  • Open gaming and demos with Guardian Games!

    Take a break and play some games! Guardian Games is hosting open boardgaming and demos all weekend!

    They won't be selling games this year, but you can visit their retail store at 345 SE Taylor St (you should go, it's gamer heaven!)

  • Secret Screening

    What does it all mean, Elwood? If we told you, we'd have to utilize complex Riemannian equations to open a portal in space-time and send a horrible human-faced rat through the 4th dimension into your abdomen to eat you from the inside! Also, it wouldn't be much of a secret. This infamous screening includes classic and hilarious content too crazy to miss. Includes old standbyes (wink), plus new content every year. It's an end of the festival tradition!

  • Carbload for Cthulhu - Author signing event

    Just you, dozens of Voodoo donuts, bagels, and coffee, and some of this Cosmos's most renowned Weird fiction authors signing books and taking names. Provisions are limited, so get there early and enjoy your blasphemous treats while rediscovering the ancient art form of tree pulp inscribed with the ink of sea creatures!

  • Innsmouth Sea Shanty sing-a-long with the HPLHS

    21 and up. Pull up a stool at the Moon & Sixpence pub (2014 NE 42nd Ave, about 2 blocks from the theater) for a rousing round of strong ale* and hearty singing of classic Innsmouth tunes with the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society crew!

    * Or whiskey, or wine, or whatever beverage you purchase for yourself at the bar.
