Liv Rainey-Smith was introduced to the art of printmaking at Oregon College of Art and Craft where she received her BFA in 2008. Since graduation, she has worked full time as a xylographic printmaker in Portland, Oregon. In 2013 she took the business name Xylographilia, which translates as “Love of Woodcut,” to reflect her passion for the art form. She is inspired by early European prints, folklore, fiction, and the natural world. In addition to her self-directed work, Rainey-Smith enjoys collaborating with writers and publishers.
Panel discussions give us the opportunity to explore questions and topics ranging from the scholarly to examinations of pop culture. Our panelists will engage in lively discourse on a variety of topics.
Some of these panels are now available for viewing on YouTube! We'll be adding more during the month of June, so keep checking back!
Author guests will be reading from their works in a close up and personal setting. This is a perfect opportunity to hear original works of fiction in the author's own voice, literally!
As programming is confirmed, author readings will be listed here as well as on the schedule.
Lovecraft has influenced and permeated all aspects of media and popular culture, including film. We will be showing films, hand picked from the archives of the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival and a few sneak peeks at what's in store for the 20th Anniversary Film Festival in October!
Watch this page for more information on the film programming, shorts blocks, and scheduled times.

CthulhuCon™ PDX is a convention style event spawned from the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival® in Portland, OR, with the mission to provide a larger forum for the literary and artistic legacy left by Lovecraft and his circle. Cosmic horror and elements of Lovecraft's work have become much more prevalent in modern horror fiction, games, pop culture, and art. CthulhuCon™ PDX was created so that these things, which have a small place in the film festival, would have a larger space to be explored and enjoyed. CthulhuCon™ is also designed to be an intimate weekend with Lovecraftian creators...
Panels, Readings, Gaming Demos and event information will be updated here as our programming is created. For more detailed information on games and demos, go to the Gaming section.
As usual, this schedule is a work-in-progress! We'll be adding new items and slightly shifting scheduled items until the program goes to press, the week before the event.
