Since we can't gather in person in Providence, RI this year, we're hosting a streaming event featuring short films both new and classic from the 25 year history of the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival®! You can join in the fun anywhere in the US! 

Some of these classic films have not been seen since they first played at the festival. As a rare treat, we've gathered the filmmakers of those early films for an interactive Q&A!

Whether you're on the East Coast or the West Coast, you've probably been wondering what's going to happen with the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival®. We've been closely watching the COVID-19 situation in both Rhode Island and here in Oregon, and it is apparent that neither show can happen in person this year.

The H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival® in Portland, OR has been the vanguard of independent horror filmmaking, with a cosmic or Weird twist, for more than 20 years. 

If you missed the 24th Annual festival and the Pacific NW Premiere of Color Out of Space with Richard Stanley, special guest Roger Corman, and Guest of Honor Victoria Price, now you can attend in spirit with this selection of short films from the festival in 2019!

Only 1,000 DVDS and 500 Blurays will be made and once they're gone, they're gone for good.

Black Moon

Film

On rare occasions when there are two new moons in the same month, the second is known as a black moon. These irregular events cause supernatural occurrences that are hidden in plain sight. On the night of a Black Moon, a pedestrian tunnel lures a young mother inside with the whimpering of a young girl.

Disturbed by a mysterious entry in his diary, novelist Henry Salt embarks on an obsessive quest to uncover the identity of his 12 o'clock appointment.

Faust

Film

A graduation short film created in technique of stop-motion/doll/2D animation with handmade dolls and scenography. It's an interpretation of the legend of Faust, based on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's "Faust", where an alchemist trying to find a meaning of life signs a deal with the devil.
