The Ikon portrays the intertwining narratives of two young men, Vasily and Dmitri, who are situated in two historical crises in Russian history: World War II and the social upheaval following the collapse of the Soviet empire. The timelines of Vasily and Dmitri intersect through their encounters with an icon of dark, unknown origins.

The freely adapted short story, written by the famous author H. P. Lovecraft, will reveal dreadfully poetic images to the viewer and give insight into a man’s struggle for survival and his fight against the loss of memory.
His spectacular escape from human creatures that live in the woods,who have lost all humanity and turned into animals, leads him directly to a mysterious house whose owner will very soon confront him with his mad rage. The subtle dialogues between the two of them, will end in a carnage.

In this Sesame Street meets H.P. Lovercraft tale, 9 year old Catherine Has dreams of the cosmic horror, Cthulhu< and must face him to save the world.

Filmed in and around King's College, Cambridge, and on the Suffolk coast, “Wits in Felixstowe” looks at the genesis, influences and setting of MR James's supernatural masterpiece 'Oh, Whistle, and I'll Come to You, My Lad.'
