We have arranged a special discounted rate for attendees at the Banfield Motel, which is walking distance to the Hollywood Theatre, and at the Doubletree Lloyd Center, which is one stop away on the MAX line.
We are thrilled to announce our special Guest of Honor for the Portland H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival & CthulhuCon, game designer and creator of the Call of Cthulhu RPG, Sandy Petersen! Come meet the man who put Lovecraft center stage of the gaming world, May 3-5 at the Hollywood Theatre.
PORTLAND, OR - We spent the last month plotting and planning, and we have some exciting things in store for this year's festival! We just launched a Kickstarter campaign to help us with up front festival expenses. Take advantage of unique festival experiences and exclusive swag that you won't be able to get anywhere else. Please help us make our campaign successful (even if you can't contribute), and share the link with friends!
To see showtimes, click here to visit our schedule. In addition to celebrating cinematic adaptations of H.P. Lovecraft and his contemporaries, the festival has a strong history of showcasing films by creators who have been heavily inspired by Lovecraft. We're proud to announce that we will be featuring the Pacific Northwest premiere of Clive Barker's Nightbreed: The Cabal Cut, presented by restoration director Russell Cherrington, who will also be available for Q&A.
Only seen in a few cities in the US, this edition restores nearly an hour of footage that was previously thought lost and with it restores Barker's original vision for the film.
Our Kickstarter was a great success! Over 200 people pledged to our cause and got themselves unique merchandise, like our backer-only glow-in-the-dark Lurker T-shirt, special lapel pins, and much more. The Lovecraft community is truly the greatest on the planet. Thanks for helping to make this a truly epic festival. Click here to check out the (finished) Kickstarter campaign.
The Kickstarter is now over, but you can still get tickets at the Hollywood Theatre box office and on-line by clicking here.
Shot as one huge Lovecraftian epic by director José Luis Alemán, the Valdemar Legacy and The Forbidden Shadow are big-budget love letters to the world of H.P. Lovecraft, containing everything from the Necronomicon and a family curse to Aleister Crowely, H.P. Lovecraft (as a character in the film), and even Great Cthulhu himself. This is also the last screen appearance of genre great Paul Naschy.
Entry to this event was made available for our Kickstarter backers who pledged $100+, but we said if any seats were left, we'd put them on sale to other attendees, and their are a modest number of tickets left. NOTE: In addition to a Cthulhu Prayer Breakfast ticket, you will also need a festival pass (3-day or single day) to attend the breakfast. Click here for more info and to purchase your tickets. (limit 2 per order).

Help us make this year's Los Angeles H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival the best yet! Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and full weekend passes are available with extra KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE goodies! You can get yourself a festival T-shirt, rare and unique art, books, and games. For those who can't attend in the flesh, we have a "There in Spirit" level that will include fest items plus exclusive access to live streaming from the theater as well as privileged access to as many of the movies as we can get.
