Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for CthulhuCon PDX!

We are looking for minions for Cthulhu Volunteers who would like to donate their time and talents to our convention and in return get behind the scenes access to the Lovecraft Arts and Literary community. As a volunteer, you'll get to see films, meet guests, help us set up for events, panels, readings, help with the ticket line. In return for your time, you'll get a special Volunteer t-shirt, time to enjoy some of the convention, and other perks like green room snacks, coffee, chocolate (lots of chocolate), and the satisfaction of knowing you helped to put on an amazing annual event!

All volunteers are expected to attend a few organizational meetings and help distribute fliers and posters to promote the convention. R'lyeh wasn't built in a day, and we need time with you to plan so things go smoothly at the event.

There are many different areas where we need helping hands. A very few posts call for specific skills and experience, but most posts only require enthusiasm, dedication, trust, and creativity. If this sounds like an opportunity for you please complete the Volunteer Application below.

If you have a Facebook account, we can add you to the FB volunteer group. If not, we will communicate by email.
We will not share this without your permission. Most of the time, we will not use this unless we need to reach you during the convention.
Sometimes it is easier to send texts during the convention. We also know that not everyone has unlimited texts. If you choose "no" we will not text you.
If you have volunteered for a convention before, let us know which ones, and what you did as a volunteer.
Check any that you are interested in
Check the best days you are able to attend volunteer meetings. It is extremely important that you be able to attend at least 1 meeting before the convention happens. Plan on meetings to last 1-2 hours. We try to keep them short and to the point.
Please check off all the days you are able to physically be at the convention as a volunteer. We know not everyone can get all days off. We also need help the day before and after the event for prep and return of rental items, wrap up, getting guests to the airport, etc.
