Panel: Lovecraft and Science Fiction
The line between science fiction and horror can be very thin, especially when it comes to cosmic horror. The hosts of The People’s Guide to the Cthulhu Mythos, Gretchen Brooks, DB Spitzer and Farmer Dave Heath, (and maybe a few friends) discuss how Lovecraft put his own twist on science fiction tropes such as alien invasions, mad scientists, and time traveling. Then deep dive into the sci fi classics have been influenced by the Mythos as Alien, The Thing, Event Horizon and the Robert Bloch episodes of Star Trek:TOS.
This Panel takes place at the Hollywood Library in the Meeting room - 4040 NE Tillamook St.
David Heath is a podcaster and blogger who has hosted shows such as Dave's Underground Goat Shenanigans, and Radio Free Oleander. He is currently the co-host of The People's Guide to the Cthulhu Mythos. He lives with his extended family in northern Oregon on a working goat farm.
